How do I convert my X-keys device to Memory Resident Mode?

Your X-keys SE devices can be converted to Memory Resident Mode by using our SPLAT Converter software.

Device Compatibility:
PS/2 X-Keys Devices:
All X-keys PS/2 Devices operate in Memory Resident Mode only and their operating mode can not be changed.
USB X-keys Devices:
X-keys Devices (pre September 2003): These devices operate in Memory Resident Mode only and their operating mode can not be changed.
X-keys SE Devices: These devices can be switched between SPLAT Mode and Memory Resident Mode.
X-keys MWII Devices: These devices can be switched between SPLAT Mode and Boot Mode. These devices do not support Memory Resident Mode.
Exceptions:
Please note that our USB LCD, 84 key and 128 key devices so not support Memory Resident Mode, and are SPLAT Mode only devices.
Converting Your USB X-keys SE Device to Memory Resident Mode:
To convert your X-keys SE device from SPLAT mode to Memory Resident Mode please follow these instructions:
- Please download and install X-keys Splat Converter from the following link: http://xkeys.com/download/TechSupport/Splat_Converter.zip and X-keys Macro Recorder from the following link: http://www.piengineering.com/download/Macro_Recorder.zip
- Once the X-keys Splat Converter and X-key Macro Recorder are installed please restart your computer.
- Once the computer has been restarted run the Splat Converter program and click on the "Get Mode" button, and also put the X-keys programming switch into the programming position. ( Click on the following link for location of programming switch: http://www.piengineering.com/support/progswi.php) The "UnSplat" button should appear. Click on the "UnSplat" button and you should get a "New Hardware Wizard". When the "New Hardware Wizard" appears click on Install from a list or a specific location (Advanced).
- Uncheck the removable media check box and check the "Include this location" box like the picture below. Click on the "Browse" button and browse to C:\WINDOWS\system32
Click on next.
- If you get a screen that asks you to insert the X-keys installation disk...
...click on ok and in the next window click on browse.
...and use the following path Local Disk:/WINDOWS/system32/drivers
- When done click on "Finish".
