How do I convert my X-keys device to Boot Mode?

Device Compatibility:
PS/2 X-Keys Devices:
All X-keys PS/2 Devices operate in Memory Resident Mode only and their operating mode can not be changed. These devices do not support SPLAT Mode.
USB X-keys Devices:
X-keys Devices (pre September 2003): These devices operate in Memory Resident Mode only and their operating mode can not be changed. These devices do not support Boot Mode.
X-keys SE Devices: These devices can be switched between SPLAT Mode and Memory Resident Mode. These devices do not support Boot Mode.
X-keys MWII Devices: These devices can be switched between SPLAT Mode and Boot Mode. SPLAT Mode is the default operating mode for these devices.
Exceptions:
Please note that our USB LCD, 84 key and 128 key devices so not support Boot Mode, and are SPLAT Mode only devices.
Converting your USB X-keys MWII device to Boot Mode:
To convert your X-keys MWII device from SPLAT Mode to Boot Mode please follow these instructions:Your X-keys MWII device is now operating in Boot Mode, and your macros have been saved to the device's internal memory.
- Download and install the X-keys MacroWorks II software from the following page on our website: http://www.piengineering.com/software/mwii.php
- Once this software is installed, plug the X-key in. Flip the X-keys programming switch into the programming position to open the MacroWorks II Graphical User Interface (GUI). Click on the following link for a picture and more details for the programming switch: http://www.piengineering.com/support/progswi.php
- When the MacroWorks II GUI opens on your screen program the keys on your X-keys device with the keyboard commands you want it to execute while it is in Boot Mode.
- Note: Custom Commands, Multimedia Commands, and Mouse Commands will not work on an X-keys device operating in Boot Mode.

- When you're done creating your layout file go to the MacroWorks II File menu and select Advanced > Write to Device. This will save your macros to your X-keys MWII device's internal memory, and convert your device to Boot Mode.
